If you live in London and fancy some Korean food or you’re on holiday here from Korea and you’re getting homesick then this post is for you!
1. Yori - Leicester Square
Yori is my favourite mainly because they have awesome Nengmyon in the brass bowls - so good, it’s round the back of Leicester Square so great to pop in just before going to the cinema :*
2. Lime Orange - Victoria
Lime Orange is in Victoria round the back of the Apollo Theatre. There is only one reason to go to there (amongst others :D); Yukgaejang is on the Lunch Set Menu every Wednesday - out of all of them this one is the spiciest I think
3. On the Bab - Shoreditch and Covent Garden
On the Bab is a Chimek (치맥) place, ie you go there to have Beer and Chicken. If you want to convince your friends and colleagues you’re still a hip and in touch kind of person I would take them here. The original one’s in Shoreditch and I’ve heard there’s one in Covent Garden as well now.
Their menu also has Korean Army Soup on it too, well worth trying. Look for BUDAE JIGAE on the menu. Special!
4. Kimchee - Holborn and King’s Cross
Kimchee do everything and it’s really big so you can usually just rock up and sit down. I used to sneak off here when I was at google and have their Yukgaejang.
When I’m with Bong and the kids we go big. Their BBQ stuff and Tangsuyuk are awesome we usually get those with JjajangMyon, Nengmyon and a Yukgaejang - it’s all good - then spend the rest of the day making groaning noises and recovering from a food coma.
5. Arang - Soho
Arang has been around for a few years, it’s more traditional kind of restaurant. Whenever we go here we order BBQ and Yukgaejang and eat heartily.
6. Woojung - Tottenham Court Road
Woojung is a Korean supermarket near Tottenham Court Road - they’ve got tons of cool in there. If you head to the back and down a small flight of stairs there’s a restaurant hidden away that does loads of cool stuff.
They don’t seem to have a website, but googling their name brings them up as the first search result.

7. Paranhodu - New Cross
Paranhodu is the restaurant nearest to us (we live in Honor Oak) we really should go in here more often - the yukgaejang is big and hearty

I just want to say, I know most of these pictures are of Yukgaejang. It’s just my favourite dish. I’m more than capable of eating other things!
